In 2012, Nevada was the first state to pass a law allowing self-driving cars on the road. Since then Florida, California, and Michigan have done the same. Tests for robotic cars in traffic have also been done in other countries including Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain. The cars rely on video cameras, lasers, radar sensors and a database of information to help them navigate themselves.
